ECONOMY

Productive Work is the primary action of the individual that creates the basis for everything else. An individual’s happiness—or lack of it—is largely determined by their relationship to the hours they spend at work. They are validated or made to feel worthless based on that daily relationship with their time and effort.

Assembly District 18 requires productive work available for every able adult. To deliver this, we will champion expanded vocational training programs, targeted incentives for local East Bay businesses in manufacturing, skilled trades, and emerging green-tech sectors, and practical workforce development partnerships with community colleges. These steps will ensure meaningful jobs that restore dignity, purpose, and economic stability for our residents.

DRUGS

Drugs are only for legitimate medical conditions, prescribed by a licensed medical professional—not sold on the street. There is no such thing as “recreational” drugs. They lead to a living hell or death.

We will enforce existing laws against street sales with zero tolerance, while simultaneously expanding access to evidence-based treatment and recovery programs. The goal is simple: protect our neighbors and children from the devastation that begins with illegal substances.

FAMILY

A family, in the common understanding of our people, is a mother, a father, and children—the basic building block of every human population and the foundation of true civilization. A civilization is a distinctly happier people than a mere population because it has developed stable, respectful relationships among its individuals.

This stability comes from recognizing the value of “the other” and committing to relationships that create better conditions for each person and for all. The strength of the family is therefore the strength of our civilization. Assembly District 18, our state, and our nation are all dependent on the success of healthy family formation. We will support family stability through tax incentives for child-rearing, accessible counseling, and policies that honor and strengthen the traditional family unit while also helping every stable household—whatever its form—succeed.

HOMELESSNESS

A major contributor to homelessness is illegal drug use, and the primary entry point for many is marijuana—a simple, well-documented historic fact. We must face it and clean it up.

At the same time, we recognize that high housing costs and loss of income are also significant drivers. Our comprehensive approach will therefore include:

• Aggressive enforcement and treatment to end the marijuana scourge and street-drug pipeline,

• Expanded shelter beds and transitional housing in District 18,

• Targeted housing-first programs paired with mandatory sobriety and job placement support,

• Partnerships to increase affordable housing supply without compromising public safety.

Together these steps will restore healthy, happy, productive lives for our neighbors and protect our children.

HOPE

We have real hope because we know that good exists. “Good” is not “Perfect.” Perfection exists only in the realm of imagination. Yet we vigorously pursue the perfect, knowing it will never be fully achieved. We honor every pursuer and celebrate their greater approximation toward perfection.

Through community recognition programs, mentorship initiatives, and policies that reward effort and character, we will keep hope alive and make District 18 a place where every resident can pursue a better tomorrow.

This is our platform—clear, principled, and rooted in the values that built our communities. Let’s get this right for Assembly District 18.
